Lee Jinki (이진기), born December 14, 1989 , better known by his stage name Onew (온유). The leader and oldest member in the group, he was discovered at the “2006 S.M. Academy Casting”.Onew collaborated with Lee Hyun Ji, former member of project group Banana Girl, for her song “Vanilla Love”.He was also featured in a duet, entitled One Year Later “1년 後”, with Girls’ Generationmember Jessica for their mini-album Tell Me Your Wish.

The eldest member in SHINee. Is extremely intelligent, so much so that in his senior year of high school he was able to place 2nd in his entire school withoutthe aid of a tutor. His nickname is Dubu (Korean for Tofu) because his personality is mild and soft, like tofu.

Onew has a unique ability that his fellow members have dubbed “the Onew Condition”. With the Onew Condition he is able to tell a joke (or make a random comment/gesture) that is so awkward and so lame that everyone around him freezes in shock. Whenever this happens the members sing their own little Onew theme-song to break the tension: Whatever he does, it’s the Onew condition~.
